Perry Township daytime burglary

Jewelry valued at $5,000 and a stereo system were stolen in a daytime burglary of a Perry Township home, state police at Hamburg said.

The break-in was discovered late Tuesday afternoon in the 600 block of Ridge Road and is believed to have occurred between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. that day, troopers said.

Someone forced open the rear door to the home and proceeded to ransack the master bedroom before exiting through the front door..

Stolen were a jewelry box, necklaces, aquamarine and diamond earrings and rings, as well as a Bose Wave music system valued at $289.
